New South Wales

Located in the south eastern part of the country, New South Wales is Australia’s most populous State with an estimated 6.2 million people. The capital city of Sydney is perhaps singularly most visible place on the Australian map. It is Australia’s largest city and home to famous landmarks like Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. It is the place of original landing of Captain Cook.

An inviting tropical climate coupled with pleasant temperatures throughout the year makes New South Wales a perfect getaway destination.

A long coastline, boasting of pristine white beaches, a number of lakes, National Parks and other coastal landmarks, is all the more inviting. Water sport activities, like swimming, surfing, scuba diving, fishing, snorkeling and beach volleyball, will keep all the adventure-sports lovers interested.

The Mountainous regions of Great Dividing Range, like Blue Mountains and Snowy Mountains, have their own glory that is unparalleled in any part of Australia. The wineries of Hunter Valley and New England Tablelands are some of the spots that can never be missed while on a visit to this part of the country.

Bordered by Queensland in the north and South Australia on the south, New South Wales is very well connected with major cities, like Sydney, Wollongong and Newcastle, offering some excellent transportation facilities.

Byron Bay is the most easterly point in mainland Australia and the first place in Australia to witness the sun rising.

The picturesque Lord Howe Island and Norfolk Island add an extra incentive to visit New South Wales.
