Fraser Coast is one of Queensland's most sought after holiday destinations. The Fraser Coast region is located approximately 3 1/2 hours drive north of Brisbane. The Fraser Coast region has a diversity of experiences for the holiday traveller - from Whale Watching in Hervey Bay, exploring the World Heritage listed Fraser Island or feeding the Dolphins at Tin Can Bay. Fraser Coast is a popular access point to the Great Barrier Reef. Fraser Coast also lays claim to the finest fresh seafood, four wheel drive adventures and world-class fishing. Hervey Bay is one of the best locations to view the humpback whales as they migrate through the calm waters. The Hervey Bay humpback whales usually appear during July to November each year.
